What Are The Advantages of The Premium Quality Media?
Can Acrylic or Metal Prints be Framed
Yes. My professional printing partner that creates my Acrylic and Metal pieces is able to place them into gorgeous slim mounted floater frames. These frames have a slim gap between the frames and the edges of the imagery so the artwork appears to float inside the frame. There are several finishes and styles available. If you are interested in adding a frame to any Acrylic or metal print, please be sure to contact me directly so I can provide you with a quote, and we can go over the options.
Recommended Lighting for my Premium Quality Print Formats
This is a GREAT question asked by clients and yes, properly illuminating my large format pieces in your home makes an impactful difference. The richness and vivid colors and details really come to life when combined with the best possible lighting methods. A good solution is if you can install simple track lighting on the ceiling, or an Art light fixture over the piece itself. If you have a track that accepts low voltage 2-pin socket bulbs you can purchase SoLux Bulbs which are the ultimate solution. Otherwise, traditional screw-in track bulbs or even ceiling mounted recessed lights will accept LED bulbs. With LED's, the artwork can truly be seen and appreciated as it was intended.
Above is typical track lighting which can accommodate LED bulbs
Large-Scale Decor Projects and Corporate Clients
If you have a large scale project I would be pleased to offer my personal assistance to complete your vision. I've worked with Art project managers for corporate interior designers, and have vast experience with nature-inspired Eco-art therapy pieces needed in Healthcare facilities and Spas. I am able to offer reasonable discount incentives for acquisitions of 5 or more pieces or photo prints. *Large scale orders are not eligible for returns*
Do I offer Framed and Matted Photo Prints
If you are purchasing my loose "print only" option (just the art print) then choosing a frame, liner, and mat color for a photographic print should be done after the print arrives at your home. It's always best to experience this in person so you can bring photos of furnishing to match or fabric swatches to pick up colors. I recommend bringing your new Print to a local qualified art framing gallery.
Do I Offer Canvas Gallery Wraps
All of my mounted print media options across the board are created using the highest quality Chromogenic prints only. Canvas prints do not meet the standards I have set for Luxury Fine Art branding. I do not offer Canvas as an option. As a better quality option, I offer DuraPlaq wall mount prints with (8) edge treatment options.
Fuji Crystal Archive - Metal Print Upgrade Details
Let me begin with this -- Not all metal prints are created equal! I first reported on this subject years ago. I am no longer offering the more typical dye-sublimated Metal prints due to the native issues they present. (I'll get into that in a minute)
I'm now offering an upgraded "metal print" by using UltraHD Fuji chromogenic fine art prints mounted to an Aluma Plaq. These completely replace the dye-sublimation method and are of FAR superior visual quality. The AlumaPlaqs begin with the artwork being printed on Fuji Crystal Archive UltraHD chromogenic print paper exposed using state-of-the-art laser technology. The print is then top-mounted over an aluminum plaque backed by a Dibond composite material that is robust and lightweight, and world-class leading UV protectant laminate is applied over the piece. This high-quality protective laminate is so thin and transparent it does not affect the way the artwork appears. It protects the imagery from harmful UV light, dust, and fingerprints and makes for easy cleaning The biggest difference in visual print quality is the traditional development of the imagery ensures perfect results. The Dibond material is 3 mm thick offering significant visual depth and has black edges when viewed from the sides.
Dye-Sublimated Metal Prints have Limitations
Here is why I decided to upgrade, and navigate away from dye-sublimated metal. I no longer felt comfortable allowing my work to be reproduced in this manner due to a handful of undeniable print quality issues. The first being a loss in fine detail and overall sharpness of the image. During the dye-sublimation heat pressing process, the transfer paper is subject to subtle movement or slippage. A second issue, something I found terribly annoying -- is the loss of subtle tonal range and contrast details in the shadow areas. In the industry, we call this "muddy". I've discussed this with many of my compadres up here in the northeast.
Another issue with dye-sublimated Metal is a visible loss of inaccurate color reproduction. Many metal print labs are now upfront about this -- and claim in the small print you can expect an 8-10% loss of detail and color saturation. Lastly, when I visit art shows to browse other artists' works, it's easy to notice common dye-sublimated metal is very prone to showing the slightest imperfections, such as ripples and waves in the aluminum sheet. This is particularly evident where the mounting hardware is attached from behind. Imperfections are prominent with a high-gloss finish. The rigid Dibond-backed Aluma Plaqs we now use for Metal Prints does not include a single flaw I've listed above.
